Why choose Compound?
Compound empowers people in tech to make better financial decisions so they have the freedom to focus on their interests and passions. This financial peace of mind can be incredibly liberating and open up possibilities. We're particularly invested in this problem because we experience it ourselves.
Tackling a significant addressable market.
There will be more software millionaires and billionaires created in the next 10 years than in the previous 40 combined. This audience—HENRYs (high-earners-not-rich-yet)—is woefully underserved. They are wealthy, but illiquid.
The next generation of wealth will come from the tech industry. Therefore, the next enduring financial institution must be built for the people who work in it. We solve for tech clients by building digital products that help them navigate their most important financial problems such as exercising stock options, filing taxes, seeking liquidity, and growing and protecting their assets. Part of our strategy is scaling alongside our clients as they progress through what we call their “wealth journey”. Over time, our financial products form the family office of the future, helping our clients manage their most important financial needs all in one place.
We’re building a generational, multi-decade company like never before and taking on private wealth management—an industry that’s ripe for disruption.
Capturing a meaningful market opportunity.
Though flushed with profits, incumbents neglect next-generation wealth who hold illiquid assets. Meanwhile, robo-advisors sell generic commodities and can’t help clients with problems like angel investing or managing equity.
Our long-term trajectory.
There’s never been a better time to join Compound. As a Series B company, our business is significantly de-risked and we’ve brought on a slate of talent, investors, and clients that will take us to the next level. At the same time, there is still so much to build and with that, room to grow and take true ownership—an opportunity that becomes rarer at larger companies. The reward is exponential for ambitious people looking to supercharge their careers.
Proven product-market fit.
We've built a product people love and are beginning to scale it in a repeatable fashion. We've grown every important metric across the company more than 10X in the past 12 months. In the coming year, we'll continue to grow and invest in improving our product surface area.
A leadership team of proven executives.
We’ve recruited proven executives to grow the business, including Jeff Schnitz—former Founder, Managing Director, and President of SVB’s Wealth Advisory practice, Michael Lieberman—former Partner, Chief Compliance Officer, and Chief Technology Officer at IEQ Capital, and Ian Chan—former Director of Engineering at Branch Metrics.
Backed by top-tier investors.
Our $25M Series B was led by Greenoaks Capital and Lachy Groom. Other investors include Egon Durban (Silver Lake), Sam Bankman-Fried (FTX), Y Combinator, and founders and executives from Coinbase, Goldman Sachs, Meta, Stripe, Brex, Plaid, Adobe, Notion, AngelList, Eventbrite, Affirm, Polychain, Paradigm, Blend, Quora, Vise, Carta, and Point.
A team to be proud of.
Compound was founded by technical Co-Founders with deep empathy and passion for the client problem we’re tackling. That passion is reflected in the team at Compound—we’re all-in on our shared vision and working to build a company for the ages.
Effective culture.
Every person at Compound sets and executes against a weekly priority to avoid busy work and needless meetings. Our writing culture encourages everyone to think through problems and their solutions with care. We believe in “speaking up” to clients and each other, and invest in making people successful by sharing thoughtful feedback.
Remote-first.
As a remote-first company (with offices in SF and NYC), we have a global presence and value the difference in perspective that brings to our work. We make it a point to come together to get to know each other beyond the work itself—celebrating progress in team settings and sharing our life stories each week.
Meet our team.

Working parent
Being a working parent during COVID times presents its own challenges, where childcare is not always stable. I was very upfront to Jordan about my commitments as a mother. He emphasized that Compound is a place that focuses on results and that he wanted to hire me for my impact above all else. I knew I could show up as my full self (as a parent and talent leader) and be supported at Compound.

Moving from traditional finance
Serving the tech community as a fiduciary has been a passion of mine for many years. It’s what I built, in an analog way, at SVB when I founded the wealth management practice there. But, I quickly recognized the growing need for a digital-first approach. When I met Jordan and Jacob, I knew immediately that these were the engineers to build an even better solution with the speed and effectiveness that only technology can enable.

Our origin story
In 2019 Jacob and I were both working at fast-growing technology companies and were faced with decisions around whether to exercise our options and how to manage our liquidity. Everyone we talked to who worked at startups felt the same. Frustrated, we read much of the tax code ourselves. Over time, it became clear that we had a huge opportunity to help a new generation of people who aren't serviced by traditional firms.

Exciting technical challenges
We’re a remote-first company with brilliant engineers distributed around the world. With a fresh, modern tech stack and tooling, our team is equipped to move fast and build products the world has never seen before. The immense knowledge, financial literacy, and exposure to the domain of startup stock and wealth management is priceless for any stage in your career. As an engineer, it’s a special opportunity to build a product I would want to use myself that solves a problem I have experienced firsthand.
